The sun
reaches out with its long rays
to paint everything it touches with brilliance:
Pink, orange, lavender, yellow, and gray,
in vast splashes color the sky.
Trees and the earth are
silhouetted against
the breathtaking canvas.
Shadows overtake
the east and the sun tints
even the most distance clouds.
Slowy, it sinks below the horizon,
darkness
enveloping everything.
The sun is gone.
There is nothing to be done.
Knowing it will rise again, I
sleep.
